Learning Outcomes | The goal of the module is to develop student awareness of the issues and responsibilities in digital technology use as well as their potential future responsibilities in digital technology design, development and deployment. |
Contents and Methods | -Lectures are online and recorded. -Module starts on Monday 16th of September -One hour lectures twice weekly on Monday and Wednesday 4pm - Irish time (GMT+1) -Students should attend synchronously however lectures will be recorded. -The lectures will follow team based learning pedagogy. -Students will be allocated to 4 person teams on week 1. -Labs will all take place in one week in MTU There will be 12 two hour labs delivered face to face. All students will attend MTU Cork Campus from the 28th of October to the 2nd of November for this week of labs. - 3 hours independent learning estimated per week |
Type of Assessment | Assessment The assessment approach will be continual assessment. The students will be required to complete two assignments. The first assignment is to produce a group reflection on the psychology of internet use and relationships with wellbeing’ base on learnings from the first week to the final day of the face-to-face sessions at MTU. Each group will write a 1500 word report and will present their findings in a presentation in MTU on the 2nd of November. The second assignment is to produce an individual reflection on the learnings in the module over the semester. Each student will write a 1500 word report on their personal learning experience in the module. The module is due to start on Monday 16th September. The MTU week is 28th October to 2nd November.
